Broody Hen

Out of the blue this hen starting just laying on her eggs for days at a time. We had an idea about what was going on but we do not have a rooster so she would be laying there for a while.

We did some research and then went on usednanaimo.com in the farming section an in about two minutes found someone selling fertilized eggs. So the adoption process started.

I loaded up Ocea and Kavin and went and bought a dozen fertilized eggs and that night we lifted Mama up and put the foster eggs in her nest.

The person I got the eggs from said it should take 21 day for the eggs to hatch so Ocea got her calendar out and is crossing off the days.

We have been guessing how many eggs will hatch.... What do you think?
