Pit stop in Port Alberni!! We have lost a few chickens a year to what we call the "sleeping disease", the chickens become very lethargic, their combs go a grey ash colour and they look to be sleeping a lot through the day until they just die! But this IS my favorite bird. She very friendly and obviously travels well in a truck! She just sat in a shoe box with hay in it the whole trip!!
Tricia was on an antibiotic for a sinus infection so I took one pill and dissolved it in water and fed it to Rocky with a spoon three time a day for 3 days. You know save a chicken and loose your wife...
Each day Rocky's comb would get a little more red at the base then the red slowly came all the way to the top till she was walking around the camp site scratching for food and chasing bugs!! I felt we had nothing to loose, by the time I gave her the medicine water she could barely support her own weight and would not ave made it through the weekend. Tircia's Mom looks after our animals while we were gone but I thought a chicken vacation was just what the doctor ordered! I'll stop now!

Devin and I ride into Tofino every morning so he can go to the skate park and the dirt jumps then have a cinnamon buns at the Common Loaf!!! This statue is at the community hall where the Tuff City Bike Park is!
